BNC’s chief foreign correspondent Nayyera Haq joins “DC Today” to talk about the latest report from UNICEF saying 1 million Afghan children are at risk of starvation following western nations freezing aid to the country after the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan last month.

“The economy is barely existent; markets are closed,” Haq tells Del Walters. “The only people really benefitting right now are the Taliban themselves who are able now to sell basic goods, like milk and meat, on the market for triple the price it used to be. It is absolutely a humanitarian crisis.”
