Photographer and author Chester Higgins was a New York Times staff photographer for several years.

His latest project called, “Sacred Nile: Where It All Began,” presents the genesis of African spirituality. It gives a glimpse into the source and influence of many faiths, while adding to his celebrated photo collections that have been featured in films, as well as notable newspapers and magazines.
