Welcome to “Prime” by Charles Blow.

Coming up, Chief U.S. District Judge Mark Walker in Tallahassee ruled against Governor Ron DeSantis, saying he was wrong to equate a community celebration of Juneteenth to that of a protest. The judge has temporarily blocked DeSantis' sweeping anti-protest measure, which was signed into law in April.

According to the International Center for Not-for-Profit Law, which tracks anti-protest laws, 20 states have enacted such measures since 2017.

Dr. Melina Abdullah, co-founder of the Los Angeles chapter of Black Lives Matter, joins Blow on “Prime” to discuss the anti-protest laws.

All this and more on “Prime.”
