More than 130 countries have agreed on sweeping changes to how big multinational companies are taxed, which is to deter them from avoiding taxes by shifting their profits to nations with lower rates. Under the agreement announced, countries would enact a minimum global corporate tax of 15% on the biggest companies, reaping an estimated $150 billion for government coffers once implemented.
In other news, a Black-owned distillery called Du Nord Social Spirits just signed a deal with Delta Air Lines. Delta is going to offer the distillery’s Du Nord Vodka on all domestic flights. The drink deal is part of Delta's supplier diversity program.
Also, for the first time in decades, FEMA is updating the way it calculates your flood insurance rates. This change can have a particularly profound effect on homeowners in Black and Brown neighborhoods.
