BNC’s chief foreign affairs correspondent Nayyera Haq joins “BNC Live” host Tashanea Lewis, sharing that this isn’t 400 Mawozo’s first time kidnapping people, noting they also kidnapped a priest and nuns in April. Haq says they control a significant amount of territory east of the capital. Haitians are now striking to protest these kidnapping and ongoing violence, demanding more from their government. Kidnappings in Haiti have spiked 30% since July. Haq says governance and political control is a problem in the country, which is partly why the United States has offered investigatory support through the FBI not only for the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse, but also for getting the missionaries back safely into the U.S.
