4:36Now Playing“Start Your Day” hosts Sharon Reed and Mike Hill chime in on the conversation following the tragic shooting on the set of “Rust,” in which Alec Baldwin killed a crew member.
Hill says there are certain jobs on set you would think one needs to be “really qualified for,” especially being an armorer on set. An armorer is the person who oversees all weapons used in a production. In this case, her name is Hannah Gutierrez. Previous podcast comments have revealed Gutierrez was “nervous” on a different movie set, with the hosts citing nepotism as the reason she even landed the role. Hill says if she was scared of being on set, it makes you wonder why there was a live round in the gun in the first place. He went on to say that an investigation will unveil negligence, and someone will have to pay for the shooting.
