BNC’s Rarione Maniece reports live from Washington, D.C., where groups are mobilizing on the Hill to voice their support for a “more robust” package. Three demonstrations have converged into one, with President Joe Biden’s economic agenda at the center. About 30 people have been arrested during their efforts to pressure the President to pass a plan that puts climate change at the center and includes childcare, Medicare expansion, citizenship for immigrants, home care and paid leave. The Poor People’s Campaign is among the many groups in attendance pushing for change.
