8:21Now PlayingThe majority-Black residents of Benton Harbor, Michigan, are now questioning why they still are getting high water bills, despite relying on bottled water for their daily household needs.
Last week, officials reported a decline in the lead levels plaguing the city’s tap water but not enough to authorize use for drinking, cooking and bathing.
In response to the water bill development, Benton Harbor Mayor Marcus Muhammad said, “Water credits need to be given out until that’s lifted. That’s justice.”
Rev. Edward Pinkney, head of the Benton Community Water Council, joins Marc Lamont Hill on “Black News Tonight” to discuss this issue.
