8:22Now PlayingIn a new memo released, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg laid out new policies for his office.
It included new guidelines for bail, pleas and sentencing and it also says the office won’t prosecute certain offenses, like marijuana misdemeanors, skipping train fares and other low-level crimes.
Bragg says these changes will not only promote public safety, but free up prosecutorial resources to focus on more serious crimes while reducing the footprint of mass incarceration.
Attorney CK Hoffler joins Yodit Tewolde on “Making the Case” to talk about Bragg and his approach to these issues.
All this and more on “Making the Case.”
