The first defendant to plead guilty on felony charges related to obstructing a joint session of Congress was sentenced to eight months in prison less than the recommended 18 months.
Another armed defendant, who threatened to kill Nancy Pelosi but failed to reach the Capitol Building, was sentenced to only 28 of the recommended 41 months. According to the judge in his case, the defendant needed, “a comprehensive assessment and an intensive, multilayered treatment plan” for mental health reasons.
