When it comes to Black children, the Washington Post cites CDC data that shows they’re more than four times as likely to die in a shooting as white children, although white children are more likely to use guns to kill themselves.
The group Everytown for Gun Safety has also studied the impact of gun violence on African Americans, and they’ve found Black people experience 10 times the gun homicides, 18 times the gun assault injuries and nearly three times the fatal police shootings of white Americans.
