Western powers are joining the Economic Community of West African States, the African Union and the United Nations in condemning the coup carried out by the patriotic movement for conservation and restoration. The international community is also calling for the release of President Roch Marc Christian Kaboré, who was arrested and detained earlier this week.
In Sudan, the country is shutting down its border with the Central African Republic. Lieutenant Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo announced that Khartoum is closing the border with the country “due to security risks.”
