In the hours beforehand, there will be a cabinet meeting at 9am followed by the traditional photo of the chancellor with her red box outside No 11 at about 11.20am.
Next up, Sir Keir Starmer will be on his feet for prime minister’s questions at midday before Rachel Reeves delivers her budget in the Commons from 12.30pm. The leader of the opposition, Kemi Badenoch, will then respond.
The Office for Budget Responsibility’s forecasts will be out at about 1.30pm, followed by a briefing at 2.30pm.
