“The law is clear. It doesn’t matter what Tice later did. The company was bound to pay tax and we reported that it did not do that.”

The Sunday Times reported that Reform deputy leader Richard Tice’s property investment company failed to pay tens of thousands in tax on dividends, says The Sunday Times’s Whitehall editor Gabriel Pogrund.

Tice has said the incident amounted to a "technicality" and that he paid income tax on the dividends he received. He also said that he has “paid all tax at the highest rate on all dividends received” and that “HMRC has been paid in full.”

Gabriel Pogrund was speaking to Kate Gerbeau and Peter Cardwell on Times Radio Breakfast. Listen live every weekend 6-10am.
