Today I’m sharing part of a podcast I was recently a guest on, the Real Talk University with hosts Andre and Christian. This podcast is great. They explore success stories outside of the classroom, and we had a great time chatting.

I spend my time in the classroom teaching. I also trade, of course. And I travel — mostly for charity. Through my Karmagawa charity, we have 47 schools. We also help animals like elephants, rhinos, dogs, cats, and soon we’ll be helping penguins, giraffes, and pandas.

I find a lot of causes around the world that frankly need exposure. That’s why I started Karmagawa. It’s one of my crowning achievements. I do a lot because I’m passionate about a lot.

So how did I get into trading? When was a kid, I used to play tennis ... until I had surgery on my arm. Long story short, I couldn't play anymore. But I could still type, and that’s when I got into the market.

As I got into college, I continued to trade and learn about the stock market — all on my own. At the same time, I was majoring in philosophy. Not gonna lie, I sucked at it. I still do.

But it gave me the opportunity to think differently. And I think that’s super important. So I encourage you, whether you're learning on the internet or in college, to push yourself. Try new subjects. Expand your knowledge base.

Gain as much knowledge as you can.

This holds true for trading, too.

Here’s the awesome thing about trading — it doesn’t require a college degree. The internet totally changed the game, thankfully. Colleges don’t usually teach enough about financial education! I think it’s a shame they don’t teach you about investing.

I had to learn the difference between investing and trading on my own. And I’ve definitely had my ups and downs. I’ve adopted what I think is the best mindset for my style of trading. That’s why I started my own online academy. I’m ready to share and teach everything I learned over the past two decades.
