FULL DESCRIPTION:
A lot of traders want to know how to start trading, how to find hot stocks, and which strategies work. So I sat down with Tim Bohen at the TradersEXPO to answer some of your questions.
First, you need to have the right mentality when you start trading. Trading is not a get rich quick scheme. It’s not about one stock or one play. It takes hard work, patience, knowledge, and dedication.
So where do you start? Start by studying. Don’t expect to make money — or even trade — in the beginning. Focus on learning and mastering strategies so you can be prepared when you do start trading. Study history — it can repeat itself.
Sometimes stocks that are up can tank fast. And most people aren’t prepared to get out quickly. That’s why you need to prepare, have a trading plan, and always be ready to move. Learn to trade with the trend and exit when you have a profit.* Don’t trade greedy — small profits can add up.
Here’s another question I hear about ‘guru’ traders:
How do you spot the ‘fakes?’ If you follow traders who aren’t totally transparent or don’t have your best interest in mind, you need to ask yourself what they’re hiding or what their motivation is.
I show you all my trades — wins and losses. I trade with a small account because most of my students trade with small accounts, and I want to teach you the process. I want you to learn.
The best part about trading is the adventure. It’s a lot of hard work, especially in the beginning. So work hard and have patience.
