Drunk Mom Blows OVER DOUBLE the Limit After Driving With her 10-Year-Old Son

Around 3:11 PM on September 3, 2022, Patrolman Troy Hartsgrove with the Highlands Police Department heard from dispatch that an officer with the neighboring Sea Bright Police Department had called in about a possibly intoxicated driver. The driver was reported to be traveling northbound on Highway 36 in a black Tesla. He stationed himself at Highway 36 and Miller Street before turning onto the highway. Since Patrolman Osuch was further ahead on the road, he initiated the traffic stop on Highway 36 near Linden Avenue. After the driver pulled over, Patrolman Hartsgrove contact with the driver, who was identified as Tinamarie Jaehnert.

As she was speaking with Tinamarie, he observed indicators of impairment. Tinamarie’s 10-year-old son was seated in the backseat of the vehicle, and she told the officer that they were coming from the beach in Sea Bright. Based on the officers’ suspicion of impairment, Tinamarie was eventually asked to exit the vehicle and perform field sobriety exercises. Her poor performance on the field sobriety exercises confirmed the officers’ suspicion of impairment.

Based on her erratic driving, the odor of alcohol, and her inability to satisfactorily complete the field sobriety exercises, Tinamarie was placed under arrest for DWI. Captain George Roxby determined that she would not be handcuffed in front of her son, and both she and her son were transported by Patrolman Hartsgrove to the Highlands Police Department for further processing. A search of her vehicle incident to arrest revealed an open container of Sierra Nevada beer and a reusable metal bottle with what appeared to be red wine. Her vehicle was impounded for a 12-hour hold according to John’s Law.

At the station, the Standard Statement for Motor Vehicle Operators was read to her, and she agreed to submit breath samples. Tinamarie’s Alcotest results indicated a BAC level of 0.18%, which was more than double legal limit of 0.08%. After they finished processing Tinamarie, she was released to a sober adult pending her court appearance after they signed the Potential Liability Warning on Tinamarie’s behalf.

Tinamarie was issued the following citations:

-Operating under the influence (39:4-50)

-Reckless driving (39:4-96)

-Driving with a suspended license (39:3-40)

-Open container (39:4-51A.B)

She was also criminally charged with endangering a child (2C:24-4A(2)).

Court records indicate that on May 21, 2024, Tinamarie was found guilty of operating under the influence and driving with a suspended license in the Highlands Borough Municipal Court. As a result of her convictions, Tinamarie had to use an ignition interlock device for 9 months, spend 12 hours at an intoxicated driver resource center, and pay a total of $830 in fines. The other 2 citations were dismissed as part of a plea agreement.

Tinamarie was later arrested again for her second DWI in Mount Arlington, New Jersey on July 28, 2025. She was found guilty of her second DWI on March 24, 2026. For her 2nd DWI conviction, Tinamarie had to use an ignition interlock device for 2 years, spend 48 hours at an intoxicated driver resource center, perform 30 days of community service, and spend 2 days in jail. She was also fined a total of $1,063 for her second DWI arrest.
