as posted by the channelHello my lovely students and supporters! Today's video kicks off a new series: TransVoiceTech. There are a lot of small things I really love talking about but I don't see how they will fit into a big video. So I'm making this series to allow myself to have a place to make short videos that can teach some of my transvoice "technology" while I work on bigger videos.
Today's topic is CLEARING THE THROAT. I first starting being aware of this when I started passing and using the woman's restroom. I was always nervous as hell to clear my throat since it sounded like Sasquatch.
Luckily it's very simple!
1. Press the tongue behind the alveolar ridge (retroflex spot).
2. Lift the rest of the tongue up forcefully towards the back of your mouth/velum.
3. Clear your throat at a higher pitch.
A throat clear can be considered a nasal consonant sound with a lot of extra glottal activity. This sound typically sounds boomy as most individuals relax the tongue during this motion creating an excessive amount of oral cavity space in which the air travels to, bounces around in, then ultimately travels up the nose which increases the vocal tract length. With this short tip you can reduce space and keep your throat clears cute... (as cute as throat clearing can be).
