SERVOLUTION – BEING JUST LIKE JESUS

▪ YOU GET JESUS INTO ANY SITUATION BY SERVING HIM IN THAT SITUATION

▪ SERVING IS POWER BECAUSE SERVING IS DEMONSTRATING JESUS

▪ SERVING AND SELFLESSNESS ARE WHERE THE POWER OF THE LOVE OF GOD IS

1 Corinthians 2:1-5 – And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony[a] of God. 2 For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. 3 I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. 4 And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human[b] wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.

• This epistle contains some well-known phrases, including (depending on the translation) "all things to all men" (9:22), "without love, I am nothing" (13:2), "through a glass, darkly" (13:12), and "when I was a child, I spoke as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child" (13:11).

• 1 Corinthians 4:20 – For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.

MAJOR THOUGHTS ON TAPPING INTO POWER AND BLESSING

1. WHEN WE FIRST STARTED THE FOOD OUTREACH WE BEGAN TO SEE OUTRAGEOUS MIRACLES BECAUSE WE WERE FEEDING THE POOR IN THE CONTEXT OF SERVING.

2. Serving is THE direct hotline to the power of God.

3. THE WAY TO THE THRONE ROOM IS THROUGH THE SERVANT’S QUARTERS.

4. SERVING IS GOOD, BUT SERVING IN COOPERATION WITH THE SPIRIT OF GOD TO DEMONSTRATE GOD’S HEART IS POWERFUL.

POWER

1 Corinthians 2:4 – And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power…

• The church is not here to tell people Jesus is alive. The church is here to demonstrate Jesus is alive in a supernatural way.

• The book of James is the put up or shut up book of the New Testament. It's the book that says, “If you say you have it in your heart, the rest of us should be able to see it in your life.”

• When James gives his credentials he could of said, “I am the half brother of the Lord Jesus Christ.” Instead, he says this: James 1:1 – James, a bondservant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ

• GABRIEL BRAGS ON GOD’S POWER: Luke 1:19 – And the angel answered and said to him, “I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and was sent to speak to you and bring you these glad tidings.”

JESUS SAID….

Matthew 23:11 – But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant.
