11:51Now PlayingIn this episode of Crime Watch Daily Updates: The disappearance of Brittanee Drexel, a 17-year-old soccer standout from Rochester, New York, who went missing while on spring breach in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Drexel wanted a fun spring break in the sun, so she traveled to Myrtle Beach without her parents' permission. On April 25, 2009, however, she left a hotel and was never seen again. Drexel's family and a team of investigators searched for her day after day, but they came up empty-handed.
On May 16, 2022, the Georgetown County Sherif's Offfice announced FBI agents found Drexel's remains, and an autopsy returned a positive identification. In addition to locating Drexel, the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office said they arrested 62-year-old Raymond Moody for her murder. She had reportedly been raped and strangled. Moody's warrant says he took "overt action to conceal and/or dispose of evidence of a crime."
Moody is a convicted felon who served 21 years for the 1983 abduction and rape of a young girl in California. He remains incarerated at the Georgetown County Jail.
