Because some American politicians give speeches with one or two key lines that highlight their ambition to cut off aid to Ukraine. Those clips get selected, sorted and reproduced by the Kremlin's PR office, printed out on a sheet of paper, and taken to Putin's desk where he gets to read the fabulous news that Marjorie Taylor Greene has announced giant political advances for Russia in its war against NATO and the civilized world. Except then the GOP failed to take 60 seats in the House, as Kevin McCarthy boasted back in Spring. So now propaganda has quickly pivoted to demonizing America and its failures as a moral bedrock. Sound complex? Imagine what it's like being the guy who prints things out and takes them to Putin.
