The aviation industry has understood its responsibility to take significant climate action. One of the front-runners in doing so are the airports. A UNFCCC side event took place at COP23 to present the initiatives of airports, co-moderated by Olav Mosvold Larsen, Senior Advisor at Avinor and Leonie Dobbie, Head of Sustainable Aviation and Airports at WSP and Administrator of the Airport Carbon Accreditation programme. Both designed an interesting session, articulated around two questions: how can we accelerate a green development of the international aviation sector, and what specific role do airports play in this transition?
