19:55Now PlayingLouisiana's prosecutor (a jurisdiction with no other known corruption problems /s) knowingly withheld blood evidence that proved a criminal suspect had the wrong blood type to match blood found on the scene. The suspect was convicted and sentenced to death. One month before the execution was to take place, a private investigator discovered the hidden blood evidence.
After being set free, the former death row inmate tried to sue the prosecutor and prosecutor's office. He won, and a jury awarded $14M. The Supreme Court of the United States decided a better number was zero. In today's case, we discuss liability and lack there of for prosecutors, to whom the law says can do no wrong.
