During the Chrism Mass, the bishop gathers with his priests, deacons, religious, and the faithful of the diocese to bless and consecrate the sacred oils that sustain the sacramental life of the Church. These oils are used throughout the liturgical year to baptize, anoint the sick, comfort the dying, and confirm.
Archbishop Rozanski speaks to the Chrism Mass as a moment of rejoicing and thanksgiving, a celebration of the whole Church coming together to witness the grace of Jesus flowing through the sacraments.
