At the Last Supper, Jesus gave his apostles the most significant gift that would connect them to him forever: his own Body and Blood. He also gave them a new commandment: "Love one another as I have loved you." Bishop Parker connects these two gifts to our call as disciples today. Receiving the Eucharist unites us more intimately with Christ and with one another. And loving as Christ loved means proclaiming him to others, even when it requires dying to self.
