The first amendment of the Constitution protects freedom of speech and freedom of the press. Unfortunately, our elected representatives - who are sworn to uphold this - don't seem to be aware of it. Recently, Donald Trump threatened to pull the licenses of NBC News and other news outlets he accused of spreading "fake news," while Democratic Representatives Bonnie Watson Coleman and Emanuel Cleaver threatened Twitter with government regulations if they didn't restrict racially divisive content.
