We can care deeply about what is happening to people across the world and still become careless with the obligations Allah has placed directly in our lives.
The things closest to us rarely feel as urgent as the things happening far away. But urgency has never been the measure of what Allah has asked from us.
The world may be on fire. That does not make your worship a distraction from what is happening in it. May Allah keep our hearts concerned for His creation without letting us neglect our duty to Him.
