as posted by the channelThe Mallee towns of Victoria’s North West are no strangers to the increased fire danger that every summer brings to their community. Fires in this sparsely populated wide expanse of Murrayville’s dryland farming region is surrounded by the Big Desert and Murray Sunset National Parks.
Summer fires are a regular reminder of the harshness of cutting out a living in this semi-arid Mallee landscape. However, specialist fire reconnaissance aircraft together with tactical Air Attack Commanders, work together with a committed team of Forest Fire Management crews, CFA volunteers and local farmers all equipped to tackle fires in an instant.
