2:41Now PlayingPresident Biden’s inauguration speech struck a completely different tone from the speech Donald Trump gave four years ago – and the words they used showed how different their visions are.
When Trump gave his inauguration speech in 2017, he spoke of “America First” and “American carnage.” President Biden instead emphasized the need for collective unity and for the country to rebuild international alliances.
While the Democrats now control both the White House and Congress, Biden is still going to face challenges. He needs establishment Democrats and progressives to get along in order to achieve campaign promises, and must still work with Republicans on bipartisan legislation.
