as posted by the channel

Award winners and other actors highlighted social justice movements and representation in the industry during the 93rd Academy Awards. Actor Regina King spoke about the Derek Chauvin trial verdict and the fears as the mother of a Black son. The winning directors of films that spoke about gun violence and police brutality paid homage to the countless lives lost to both.

Several women of color took home big awards: Chloe Zhao became the first woman of color to win Best Director, while Mia Neal and Jamika Wilson are now the first Black women to win the award for Best Makeup and Hairstyling.
