Rep. Adam Schiff, the chair of the House Intelligence Committee, questioned Fiona Hill, the White House’s former Russia adviser, and David Holmes, a top staffer at the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine, on Nov. 21, in a public hearing as part of the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump. Hill said after seeing Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani was making assertions on TV, it became clear that "Burisma was code for the Bidens because Giuliani was laying it out there." And this prompted some national security officials to speak out, she added. The impeachment inquiry has focused on a July 25 phone call in which Trump asked the president of Ukraine to investigate former vice president and 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden and his son, Hunter.
