Rep. Doug Collins, the ranking member on the House Judiciary Committee, said there's "no factual underpinning to impeach this president." Collins, who heavily criticized Democrats for pursuing the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump's actions with Ukraine, said what will be known about this moment in 2019 is that "this committee has now sounded the death of minority rights." "This committee has become but nothing a rubber stamp. This committee is amazingly now on such a clock-and-calendar process that they don't care. Facts be damned," Collins said. The House Judiciary Committee on Dec. 12 considered amendments to the articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump and voted on whether to send those articles to the full House of Representatives. Democrats brought two articles of impeachment against Trump--abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
