Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, rebutted Republican arguments that President Donald Trump was trying to fight corruption in Ukraine when he asked the nation’s president to investigate President Joe Biden and his son Hunter. Jackson Lee spoke in opposition to a Republican amendment that would have changed wording in the articles of impeachment against Trump to shift focus toward Hunter Biden and the Ukrainian oil company Burisma that Biden sat on the board of. The House Judiciary Committee on Dec. 12 considered revisions to the articles of impeachment and voted on whether to send those articles to the full U.S. House of Representatives. Democrats on Tuesday filed two articles of impeachment against Trump -- abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
