Rep. Adam Schiff, the lead House manager in the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump, said the House tried to get key witnesses, including former National Security Adviser John Bolton, to testify during the House impeachment process. But, he said, Bolton threatened to sue the House if they issued him a subpoena. Schiff spoke in response to Trump lawyers’ claims that the House did subpoena Bolton, but was now trying to get the Senate to do so. The House of Representatives impeached the president in December on two articles--abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The trial will determine whether Trump is convicted of those charges and will be removed from office, or acquitted.
