In a rebuttal to a Republican argument over the aid to Ukraine, Rep. Adam Schiff, the lead House manager in the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump, agreed that the money was eventually released to the country, but only "after the president got caught." Even then, Schiff said, "they had held onto the aid so long, that it took a subsequent act of Congress to make sure it could go all out the door." Schiff spoke during the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump on Jan. 21. Trump was impeached by the House of Representatives in December on two articles — abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The Senate will now decide whether to convict Trump of those charges and remove him from office, or acquit him.
