Rep. Adam Schiff, House manager for President Donald Trump's impeachment trial, pushed back on the idea that the multiple motions to subpoena documents in various departments are the same. “We’re not talking about the same documents here,” Schiff said, adding that Republicans don’t want the public to know what the documents from the Defense Department and others may actually say. Schiff said the GOP wants to keep the documents an “abstract” idea. Trump was impeached by the House of Representatives in December on two articles — abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The Senate will now decide whether to convict Trump of those charges and remove him from office, or acquit him.
