Rep. Jason Crow, a House manager in the Senate impeachment trial, detailed the concerns U.S. officials had about a July phone call between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Crow pointed out that the call prompted conversations with government lawyers. He also said Trump only lifted a hold on U.S. aid to Ukraine after he was “caught.” “His misconduct continued to this day,” Crow said. Crow was one of several House Democrats making the case that Trump abused his power and obstructed Congress by trying to cover up his conduct relating to Ukraine. The White House will give its defense after the House managers have been allowed 24 hours over the course of three days to present their case. The trial will determine whether Trump is convicted of two articles of impeachment and removed from office or whether he is acquitted.
