16:12Madeleine Dean, D-Pa., spoke Feb. 13 as House impeachment managers and former President Donald Trump’s defense team offered their final cases in Trump’s second impeachment trial. The Senate will vote on whether to convict Trump on a charge of inciting an insurrection for his role in the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. Trump was impeached by the House in January, while he was still in office.
Dean said she was not aware of the extent of Trump’s incitement until she began preparing for the trial. She said while many people had “tuned out” Trump’s rallies, his followers were listening intently. Trump repeatedly incited his followers for months leading up to the insurrection, she said. “History has found us. I ask that you not look the other way,” she said.
