1:29Now PlayingVice President Kamala Harris called former president Donald Trump's accusation that she hates Israel "absolutely not true" and affirmed her lifelong support for Israel and its people.
"[Trump] knows that he's trying to again divide and and distract from the reality, which is, it is very well known that Donald Trump is weak and wrong on national security and foreign policy," Harris said.
"It is well known that he admires dictators, wants to be a dictator on Day 1, according to himself. It is well known that he said of Putin that he can do whatever the hell he wants and go into Ukraine. It is well known that he said when Russia went into Ukraine, it was 'brilliant.' It is well known he exchanged love letters with Kim Jong Un."
Harris also directly addressed Trump, telling him that global dictators and autocrats support his candidacy because they know they can "manipulate" him with "flattery and favors" and that many military leaders who have worked with him have told her that he is a "disgrace."
Harris and Trump met for their first and possibly only debate on Sept. 10, hosted by ABC in Philadelphia. Harris replaced President Joe Biden as the Democratic presidential nominee this summer after Biden gave a troubling debate performance in June, increasing calls for him to drop out of the race.
According to the latest PBS News/NPR/Marist poll, more than two-thirds of Americans say they will watch all or most of the debate. While many voters have already made up their minds, 14 percent of Americans say the debate will have a great impact on which candidate they choose.
