1:20Now PlayingFormer President Donald Trump falsely claimed that Vice President Kamala Harris met with with Russian President Vladimir Putin days before Russia invaded Ukraine.
Harris has never met with Putin, but did meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the Munich Security Conference in 2022, days before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine began.
Trump also said he believes Biden is the worst president in U.S. history and that Harris is the worst vice president.
“She's worse than Biden, in my opinion,” Trump said. “She is a horrible negotiator. They sent her in to negotiate as soon as they left. Putin did the invasion.”
Harris and Trump met for their first and possibly only debate on Sept. 10, hosted by ABC in Philadelphia. Harris replaced President Joe Biden as the Democratic presidential nominee this summer after Biden gave a troubling debate performance in June, increasing calls for him to drop out of the race.
According to the latest PBS News/NPR/Marist poll, more than two-thirds of Americans say they will watch all or most of the debate. While many voters have already made up their minds, 14 percent of Americans say the debate will have a great impact on which candidate they choose.
