0:36Now PlayingU.S. attorney general nominee Pam Bondi said that the U.S. Justice Department is on the “cusp of a new golden age” in a confirmation hearing Wednesday held by the Senate Judiciary Committee.
“I believe we are on the cusp of a new golden age where the Department of Justice can and will do better if I am confirmed,” she told the committee. “If confirmed, I will fight every day to restore confidence and integrity to the Department of Justice, and each of its components.”
“The partisanship, the weaponization will be gone. America will have one tier of justice for all,” she added.
Bondi is a former Florida attorney general and has been a longtime ally of President-elect Donald Trump. This is the first of two hearings the committee has scheduled for the nominee.
