4:41Now PlayingSen. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., questioned U.S. attorney general nominee Pam Bondi in a confirmation hearing Wednesday held by the Senate Judiciary Committee. Schiff explained that Democrats are not worried about the fact that Bondi is a longtime friend of President-elect Donald Trump, but that several former Trump appointees have been confronted with conflicts between the president-elect's expectations of loyalty and ethical conduct.
Schiff also asked Bondi if she would respect marriage equality and the marriages of many LGBTQ Californians. Bondi responded that she would respect the law.
Bondi is a former Florida attorney general. This is the first of two hearings the committee has scheduled for the nominee.
