4:40Now PlayingSenator John Barrasso, R-Wyo., introduced Lee Zeldin, President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for director of the Environmental Protection Agency.
Barrasso said Zeldin will “correct the course of the EPA.”
“He knows firsthand how important it is for the federal government to be a partner to states rather than an out-of-touch regulator,” the senator said. “This is the dedication and understanding that Lee Zelden will bring to the EPA.”
Zeldin is a former congressman from New York. He left Congress in January 2023 and was among the Republicans in the House of Representatives who voted against certifying the 2020 election results. In his time in the House, he did not serve on committees that oversaw environmental policy.
