as posted by the channelFirst responders and emergency officials from Butler County, Pennsylvania, marched in the inaugural parade for President Donald Trump’s second term in honor of a former fire chief who died at a Trump rally in July.
A moment of silence was held for Corey Comperatore, a past chief of the Buffalo Township Volunteer Fire Company, who was struck by a stray bullet and killed during an attempt on Trump's life.
The first responders included the Pennsylvania State Police, local police, county sheriffs, emergency services unit, radio dispatchers and hospital staff who participated in the response to the assassination attempt.
The inauguration ceremony, including the swearings-in, took place indoors this year, a last-minute change to the pomp and circumstance due to extreme cold forecasted for the nation’s capital. The parade was held inside Washington’s Capital One Arena.
When Trump returns to the White House, he’s expected to act quickly on his campaign promises and roll back his predecessor’s policies. As his second term begins, his party controls both chambers of Congress and conservative justices have a majority on the Supreme Court. Trump is only the second president to return to office in non-consecutive terms, the only president convicted of a felony and the oldest person to win election to the White House.
