Bob Mueller's Public Statement Sends IMPEACHMENT Dog Whistle!

Bob Mueller gave a much-anticipated statement in relation to the Mueller report for the first time (and probably last time) ever. It was a short statement, lasting only about 8 to 10 minutes. He basically echoed the Mueller Report which has been known to all of us for a while now. But there a few key things here he said, and did not say, that spark some curiosity.

First, he says that there was never any intention of charging the President with anything because there has been a long-standing practice of not indicting any sitting US President. Then he said that “if his office had confidence that the President clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said so.” But he did not say the reverse of that statement, which left that question up in the air. Nearly alluding to the President’s guilt or potential guilt.

Many Congressional members took his words and lack thereof as a dog whistle of sorts, immediately signalling impeachment. Which of course would be a mistake.

Ken Starr said the word “guilty” 11 times in the famous Starr Report which was the tool used to bring about impeachment for Bill Clinton. No such language was used in the Mueller Report. He did not indict Clinton, as is standard, but the President was impeached back then. He was not removed from office and all that it did backfire on Republicans who lost a lot of seats during that time.

The same fate will be in store for Democrats if they go the impeachment route. 2020 is right around the corner and Trump looks as strong as ever. Democrats look as weak as ever and an incorrect move here would just make things worse.
