10:13Now PlayingPresident Donald Trump recently shared a video from Fox Business that highlighted several moments of stammering speech during Nancy Pelosi’s press conference. More clips of a similar nature, but not the same, were shared on social media around the same time. A video of her at a “CAP IDEAS” event was altered (slowed down) to make her slurs appear more pronounced.
So the mainstream media decided to run with headlines that essentially labeled everyone who shared the second video mentioned as a “Trump supporter.” Then they labeled Trump himself as “also sharing a heavily edited video of Nancy Pelosi.” While both of the videos mentioned were edited, they were edited very differently for different reasons. The first one was edited with the objective of deception, while the other one was edited for the interest of time.
It was clear that mainstream media’s objective was to try and link Trump and his supporters into one box of people that constantly attack political opponents with fake news. When in reality, mostly everyone knows that the media are the ones who do that very same thing on a daily basis, and it’s been in overdrive throughout the Trump era.
