After receiving a letter from a Blue Peter viewer that criticised his way of speaking, John Noakes - seemingly so unflappable when tasked with doing all manner of perilous physical stunts - recalls when he faced his greatest fear - reading the news.
In 1970, John was joined by BBC newsreader Richard Baker for a behind the scenes look at how a news broadcast gets to air, before he tried his hand at reading a news bulletin himself. Is it possible to read the news in a Yorkshire accent?
