Tonight's Julian Pettifer goes to Bowness in Cumbria to learn about haaf netting - a method of fishing unique to the area - to catch salmon and trout in the Solway Estuary. Haaf netting has its advantages - you don't need a fishing licence, for one - but it requires almost preternatural patience and steely determination. The Solway Firth is bitterly cold and fraught with danger, and it's seemingly nigh on impossible to catch a fish.
