During my years working homicide in Chicago, my partner and I would sometimes go into the room where these files were kept and start looking through them. These weren’t our cases, but as detectives you can’t help but wonder if something was missed.
Sometimes all it takes is a fresh set of eyes to notice a detail buried in reports, photographs, or evidence from years ago.
In this clip from my full video, I talk about the moment we decided to take a closer look at one of those cold case files and see what we could learn from it.
