“Fort Collins today,” wrote uploader Ana de Lorme on footage of the smoke clouds. “Smoke and ash fill the air, and charred pine needles rain down every so often. Scary and heartbreaking.”
The fire had grown to 164,140 acres by October 15, to become the largest in state history, eclipsing the size of the Pine Gulch Fire from earlier this season. As of October 15, the Cameron Peak Fire was 56 percent contained.
